CARL MAYOTTE UNVEILS « LORETTEVILLE »

Quebec, January 30, 2026 - As the release of his new album approaches on March 6, 2026, bassist Carl Mayotte unveils a third and final single titled “Loretteville”.

This suburb of Quebec City holds a central place in the bassist’s identity. Knowing every street, every trail, and every layer of its history, Carl still considers this part of the city the place where he feels most at home.

To pay tribute to it, he chose to set to music what best represents Loretteville, the Saint Charles River and, by extension, the Kabir Kouba Falls. An archival photograph of this iconic landscape also appears on the single’s cover.

To translate the river into music, Carl Mayotte created a true sonic adventure that transports the listener on a canoe ride along its waters. You can feel the rapids through sudden rhythmic shifts, the waves through a deeply rooted groove that makes you move, and even a waterfall, illustrated by an almost heavy metal section. Stylistically, “Loretteville” falls in line with modern fusion groups while adding a distinctive touch drawn from progressive rock.

Carl is joined by his trusted quintet, Stéphane Chamberland on drums, Damien Jade Cyr on saxophones and keyboards, Gabriel Cyr on guitar, and Francis Grégoire on keyboards. For this single, they also welcome two renowned guests, the legendary Pierre Emmanuel Beaudoin on percussion and sound effects, and the remarkable Dayron Luis San Juan on congas.
