About

Laurence Castera scratches his first chords on a classical guitar at the age of 8 and then learns to play and read music. He discovered, at the beginning of his teenage years, the pleasure of playing in a band and learned bass, piano and more specifically singing. His first stage experiences took place at his high school, then in various shows in his native region, La Beauce, before leaving for Quebec City. He then puts school aside to devote himself more seriously to his passion and joins AUTOMAT. After two mini-albums, an album, two music videos and a hundred shows throughout Quebec, Ontario and the Maritime Provinces, Laurence leaves the band to return to her first love, writing and singing. It is by playing in the 2014 edition of the popular show "La Voix" that he made himself known to the general public in Quebec. He hit the road in the summer of 2014 for a tour of shows throughout Quebec where he shows hundreds of spectators all his talent as a songwriter. Laurence then gained credibility by becoming a semi-finalist at the Festival International de la chanson de Granby in the summer of 2015. He came out with a public award, the Bourse de la chanson populaire Tim Hortons. After presenting hin show in theaters across the province, in solo, duet and group, Laurence finally offers a very first solo album at the beginning of 2017, under the label of Coyote Records.

He is currently working on his second album set to be released during the spring of 2019.
