Webster & 5 for Trio release their new EP entitled Sky
Just over a year after presenting the Webster & 5 for Trio album, the collaboration continues as they release a second EP entitled Sky.
The jazz/hip-hop formation thus unveils 4 songs that were inspired by the arrangements for the shows: an unpublished piece (Sky) and three covers of Webster's works (Ateliers, Rap Queb and Reste Vaillante), skillfully reworked by the jazz trio.
Once again, thanks to 5 for Trio, we rediscover the beauty of Webster's lyrics while the double bass and drums ensure a solid groove to the songs, while the electric guitar and the addition of the keyboard (Jérémie Hagen-Veilleux) create a more sought-after atmosphere with melodies that are sometimes prog and rock.
