CLODELLE RELEASES “DOMINO”, A FIRST FRENCH ALBUM FULLY IN HER IMAGE
After an anglophone album in 2022 and several radio hits since, Clodelle is back with her very first opus entirely in French, Domino. With new collaborations with producer John Nathaniel (One Republic, Shawn Mendes) and Benny Adam (La Zarra, Niro), the Montreal artist transports listeners into her universe, where everything can change with a simple click, like a Domino effect.
Domino is a succession of intense, raw emotions, like a series of dominoes falling one after the other, triggering waves of contrasting feelings. Rooted in bold, modern pop, the album's ten songs explore universal themes such as love, while venturing into more personal and sometimes darker subjects, such as depression and certain trials that have left their mark on Clodelle.
The production of this opus bears the unique signature of Benny Adam on six tracks, and John Nathaniel and Mariane Cossette-Bacon on the other four. Together, they have fashioned a rich and varied sonic universe: a hint of funk colors “Rassure-moi”, “Combien je t'aime” comes alive with Latin-Spanish rhythms, “Rien ne m'étonne” takes us back to the 60s and “Ses dents” features a vibrant, danceable duet with Benny Adam. Another standout track is “Je brûlerai encore”, a collaboration with Rymz, which explores deep themes delivered with poignant intensity.
The title Domino was not chosen at random. For Clodelle, the word represents her way of looking at life: periods of calm followed by moments when everything comes together, each event or encounter triggering a series of changes. The album captures the essence of those moments when everything can change.
