LOUIS-ÉTIENNE SANTAIS PRESENTS « DOLORES », AN EXALTED PIECE

After a very personal interpretation of a Depeche Mode song last August, Louis-Étienne Santais offers "Dolores" and announces the release of his second album.

With its fast rhythm and its great expressiveness, this piece evokes the dualities and paradoxes of the human psyche. The main theme of the balance of opposing forces appears from the first notes of "Dolores". The left hand and the right hand seem to come from two completely different worlds but harmonize smoothly. The use of inversions in the accompaniment and sudden modulations suggest that each individual has one or more fluid personalities within them.

This new single is one of the only pieces from (De)construction to have been recorded on a grand piano, the Fazioli. Its fast tempo and the wide movements made by the left hand in the accompaniment require an instrument with a superior mechanical response.
