MATT MOLN UNVEILS « SOUS TERRE »
Last March, Matt Moln revealed the first glimpse of his debut album, staying true to his soaring, introspective musical style. Today, he surprises us with “Sous terre”, a radically different song that explores new sonic horizons: a downright dance track!
The song began with a bass line set to the rhythm of a walk, as he often writes and composes while walking. Then an idea popped into his head to do a dance track. In the midst of the pandemic, the young singer-songwriter possessed an undeniable urge to move, to see a bar full of ecstatic bodies sweating, screaming and spitting at each other without shame. He could see himself walking out of there, strolling through empty streets with a tired body, drunk with pleasure.
"To reach that ecstasy, we had to switch off, stop wanting to feel. We had to want to inflate our ego until it exploded, disintegrated in the force of numbers, to become all that exists. Sous terre is that story.
The track is accompanied by a spellbinding visual that perfectly reflects the song's energy. Directed by Olivier Gagnon, it focuses on the dissolution of identity and dizziness. It shows Matt Moln stalked, haunted, divided between his own images.
