ONE LAST SINGLE FOR GHOSTLY KISSES BEFORE HER NEW ALBUM
Montreal, January 11, 2022 - On the verge of releasing her first full-length album "Heaven, Wait" on January 28th, Ghostly Kisses is offering one last single as a gift to her fans. The singer-songwriter took advantage of the holiday season to unveil Green Book, a song with a fairytale feel that is sure to warm hearts.
Ghostly Kisses marked the release of this fourth single by unveiling an intimate live acoustic session at the Grand Salon on December 27. Filmed in all sobriety, this three-minute sequence plunges the viewer once again into the intimate and touching universe, unique to the artist.
Although Margaux Sauvé once again signs the music for this song alongside her sidekick Louis-Étienne Santais, she trusts New York director Thomas Bartlett (Sufjan Stevens, St. Vincent, The National) to give Green Book its magical atmosphere. Several lines of piano, strings, mellotron and enveloping atmospheres shape this piece with rich, delicate and sparkling sounds.
Written by Margaux Sauvé in collaboration with her co-writer Vann Delorey, Green Book describes the thoughts that scroll and print in the diary of a young girl. In quotation marks, the artist recalls with great emotion the sentences that have stayed with her since childhood.
Once, you said "I'll never make you cry"
"Angel eyes are only meant to smile"
It is, hidden under her bed where she found refuge, that she could escape in her thoughts and in her dreams, in order to escape the sometimes difficult reality that represented the separation of her parents.
Then, I used to sleep under my bed
I would play dead
And couldn't see the tears you shed
