RENZO RIVOLTA PRESENTS A DEBUT ALBUM : TOUR DE FORCE
Montréal, le 24 janvier 2025 - Renzo Rivolta, the Montreal-based duo composed of Max-Antoine Gendron (Geoffroy, DJ Snake, Marie-Mai) and Jay Lavigne (SAENS, Marie-Mai, Tom Eliot), has finally unveiled its debut album, Tour de force. Born out of a long-standing collaboration between the two artists, the album is a blend of introspection, celebration, and sonic innovation.
The album is bilingual, featuring songs in both French and English, all under the umbrella of electronic pop. Some tracks delve into darker reflections, such as "Vice," which critiques society's obsession with the race for wealth, while others, like "Montagne magique," celebrate love and cherished memories. The journey transitions from introspective, melancholic moments to rhythms reminiscent of the energy of 80s club scenes, where joy and fresh beginnings take center stage.
Musically, the album draws inspiration from disco and funk legends of the 70s, such as Nile Rodgers and Marvin Gaye, as well as contemporary electronic influences like Kavinsky and Justice.
