About

Laurence Castera made his first steps on stage in 2009, while playing guitar with the pop group Automat. He then made himself known to the general public in 2014 during a remarkable appearance on the show La Voix, just one year before he won the Audience Award at the Festival de la chanson de Granby. In 2017, Le bruit des mots was released, a first album of original material self-produced and co-directed by Francis Perron (Bears of Legend). Following the release of this first album, Laurence puts on a hundred show dates in Quebec in addition to a tour in Europe while his music can also be heard on various television shows. Two of the fourteen multifaceted pop-folk songs on the album are at the top of the radio charts.

At the end of 2018, Laurence went back into the studio to record a 2nd album, this time with Simon Pednault (2 nominations at the 2019 Junos with Gabrielle Shonk and Tire le Coyote) who wears the hat of co-director in addition to co-writing the arrangements with Laurence. Les hauts lieux was released on April 12th 2019.
