BENNY ADAM CONTINUES TO REVEAL HIS UNIQUE STLYE WITH “MOK YA MOK”.
After winning over audiences in Canada, France and Morocco with his latest tracks “Travolta” and “Tit'souite”, Benny Adam is back with “Mok ya mok”, just in time for his performance at Visa for Music. The prolific producer continues to introduce his new musical genre, called Draï : a fusion of UK drill, chaabi and raï.
“Mok ya Mok" reinvents Khadija El Warzazia's classic track, infusing it with modern, dynamic rap. The chorus, sung by El Warzazia herself, brings a deep cultural resonance, linking past and present in a powerful collaboration.
Thematically, identity plays a central role in the track. The song is a veritable injunction to action, through lyrics evoking resilience, imigration, the struggle for success, survival and homesickness. “Mok ya Mok" is thus a raw, dynamic hymn to ambition, struggle and the tensions between personal values and social pressures, all set against the backdrop of an original, culturally-infused sound.
