GASPARD EDEN IS BACK WITH « ALIEN »

Gaspard Eden begins a long-awaited new era with his single "Alien". The intimate and surreal track unveils a new recording technique for the Quebec-based artist, creating a transcendent sound.

“Alien” presents a dream-like narrative where the line between life and death feels blurred. The lyrics unfold like a poetic journey, shifting between moments of clarity and confusion. They delve into themes of drug addiction through shape-shifting imagery, evoking vivid impressions and ambiguity regarding the afterlife.

As an exercise in style, Eden prioritizes surreal mood over a conventional structure, resulting in a song that feels like a stream of consciousness unfolding in real-time. Musically, the track combines folk elements with a lo-fi, raw sound. Self-recorded straight to tape, “Alien” has an intimate, unpolished quality that enhances its reflective atmosphere. This recording technique lends the song a sense of immediacy, as if capturing a fleeting emotional moment in its purest form.

“Alien” is a multi-disciplinary project produced entirely by the artist himself, from the song itself to the artwork.
