MIELS: A SECOND ALBUM, A YEAR LATER
MONTREAL, MAY 6, 2022 - The rock-electro duo MIELS, composed of Paige Barlow and JF Lussier, arrives with Lécher le ciel, an album even more energetic than the previous one, Prends-moi comme la mort, a first record that was released exactly one year ago.
MIELS have been able to explore their sound and hone their songwriting skills during the long quarantine periods of the past year. Written, composed and produced entirely by Paige and JF, Lécher le ciel explores ideas ranging from carnal desire to societal longing and draws from a full range of genres including post-punk, disco and synth-pop.
True to form, the couple took advantage of the last few months to hop in their van and travel over 10,000 kilometers from Montreal to Victoria. It was during this roadtrip that the lovebirds wrote and composed 11 new songs. Inspired by the road, the unknown and the great outdoors, MIELS offer a second full-length that doesn't lack character or ferocity.
The album is accompanied by the release of a music video in which MIELS discover a universe which sticks to their skin: the sweet smells of an American road trip to the Natural Born Killers. Camera in hand, with attitude and nonchalance, Paige and JF film each other in a Californian fashion photoshoot concept.
