About

Loïc Lafrance is a singer-songwriter straight out of Bas-Saint-Laurent. Now based in Quebec City, the artist began self-producing in 2020, and an album (Le monde des adultes) and an EP (THÉÂTRE/VIOLENCE) were born directly from his bedroom. The EP juxtaposed their art and sociology backgrounds, and expressed their frustration at a system where the marginalized don't have the same opportunities as those at the center of the social normativity spectrum.

Loïc has made a name for themselves at Cabaret Festif, where they were named Coup de Coeur du Public, at the Grand Concours du Festival International de la Chanson de Granby, and on the tenth season of TVA's La Voix. In May 2024, Loïc Lafrance reached the third step of the podium at the 28th edition of the prestigious Francouvertes contest in Montreal.

In September 2024, they unveiled “La peur est une fleur”, an album produced by Julien Mineau (Malajube). The music takes its inspiration from 2000s rock, with an imaginative, symbolic style. Accompanied by a raw sound combining grunge and pop, Loïc Lafrance's performance is sincerely theatrical. It's a multidisciplinary project that combines a committed, casual sound with a luminous, supercharged, maximalist staging.
